2025 Impact Summary & Report
Written by Jonnie, Grant and Impact Manager, Climb 2 Recovery
As we reflect on 2025, it is clear that this has been a landmark year for Climb 2 Recovery. What began as a vision to support wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans through challenge, community and adventure continues to grow, reaching more people and delivering greater impact than ever before.
Our 2025 Impact Summary provides a snapshot of what has been achieved over the last year, but behind every statistic is a person who has taken a step forward, overcome a challenge, built a new connection or rediscovered hope for the future.
Perhaps the most significant achievement has been the growth of our membership. During 2025, membership increased by more than 150%, driven almost entirely through word of mouth and trust in the experiences we provide. For us, this is one of the strongest indicators that the Climb 2 Recovery approach is making a genuine difference in people's lives.
Delivering Opportunities for Growth
Throughout the year, we delivered 11 fully funded courses, supporting over 1,200 training days and creating 23 additional activity days in response to member demand.
Members took part in a wide range of activities, from Learn to Climb and Learn to Lead programmes to winter mountaineering, multi-activity courses and specialist mountain safety training. Each opportunity was designed to build confidence, skills and resilience through real-world experiences rather than classroom theory.
These experiences are at the heart of the Climb 2 Recovery model. By creating safe and supportive opportunities for challenge and achievement, we enable people to discover what they are capable of and build confidence through action.
Outcomes That Matter
Numbers only tell part of the story, but they provide important evidence of impact.
In 2025, 100% of participants reported feeling safe, supported and inspired during their involvement with Climb 2 Recovery. Feedback consistently highlighted positive experiences, meaningful connections and opportunities for personal growth.
The most encouraging results came from our mental health outcome measures. Participants reported significant improvements in their wellbeing following participation in our courses, with positive outcomes increasing from pre-course assessments through to post-course evaluations.
These results reinforce our belief that challenge, community and responsibility can play a powerful role in supporting recovery and rehabilitation.
Building Skills, Qualifications and Future Opportunities
A key part of our mission is helping members develop skills that extend far beyond their time on a course.
During 2025, members achieved a wide range of nationally recognised qualifications and training awards, including Mountain First Aid certifications, Mountain Leader training and climbing instructor development opportunities.
For some, these achievements represent personal milestones. For others, they are the first steps towards volunteering, leadership roles or employment opportunities within the outdoor sector. Every qualification earned represents increased confidence, greater capability and a stronger sense of purpose.
Exceptional Value and Sustainable Growth
The impact achieved in 2025 was delivered with exceptional value for money. Through a combination of charitable funding, donations and responsible financial management, we were able to provide meaningful recovery opportunities at a fraction of the cost of many traditional interventions.
Looking ahead, we are already planning for continued growth, with increased funding targets and expanded opportunities to ensure that more veterans and service personnel can access the support, challenge and community they need.
Thank You
None of this would be possible without the commitment of our members, volunteers, supporters, trustees, staff and donors. Every course delivered, every qualification achieved and every personal success story is the result of a community working together toward a common goal.
The 2025 Impact Summary demonstrates more than organisational growth. It shows the power of community, adventure and personal responsibility to create meaningful change.
As we move into the future, we remain committed to our mission: helping wounded, injured and sick veterans and service personnel rebuild confidence, connection, purpose and hope through climbing, mountaineering and community.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
