Climb2Recovery – “Beyond the Summit” Journey to Invictus
Climb2Recovery (C2R) delivers a powerful, multi-phase expedition titled “Beyond the Summit”, designed to support veterans in the build-up to the Invictus Games. Spanning the UK’s most iconic climbing regions, this journey blends challenge, recovery, and community, taking participants from initial engagement through to personal achievement and representation.
Phase 1 – Scotland (Isle of Skye, Glen Coe & Ben Nevis)
16–20 June
The journey begins in the rugged landscapes of Scotland, setting the tone for resilience and shared experience.
This phase introduces participants to expedition life, building trust, camaraderie, and mental resilience in some of the UK’s most demanding environments.
Phase 1a – Lake District (Transition & Consolidation)
20–21 June
A short but vital consolidation phase, allowing participants to embed early experiences and build confidence.
Following a full day in the mountains, the group transitions to the Peak District, marking a shift into more structured progression.
Phase 2 – Peak District (Skill Development & Progression)
21–25 June
The focus now turns to structured climbing development and technical progression.

Phase 3 – North Wales (Challenge & Exposure)
25–28 June
With confidence growing, the expedition moves into more committing terrain.
Traditional and technical routes, pushing participants physically and mentally while reinforcing teamwork and trust.
Phase 4 – Cornwall (Performance & Completion)
28–30 June
The final phase brings the journey to a powerful conclusion on the granite sea cliffs of Cornwall.
This stage represents the culmination of the expedition, where participants demonstrate the resilience, confidence, and growth developed throughout the journey.
